Your Instructor

Ian Spencer – V Dan (5th Degree)
International Instructor, UKTA

I started Taekwon‑Do in 1989 as a child, drawn in by martial arts films. My first instructor was Mr Steve Proctor. I mostly graded under Grand Master Ri Ki Ha and Grand Master Paul Cutler. I earned my Black Belt in 1993, one day before turning 14. I’ve been helping teach since then — and formally started this school to pass on what I’ve learned. I still train with Master Paul Harris, I have known and respected him since the day I started.

I believe in realism. Physically and mentally. Muscle memory matters — and so does mindset. A good student is one who wants to be better. I always say: I can tell you how it should be done — but you have to do it.

Training is disciplined but fun. Challenging but encouraging. The hardest part is patience. Progress happens — just not always fast. I teach every class personally, and we follow the full UKTA and ITF syllabus. No shortcuts.
