4th Kup – Blue Belt
As a Blue Belt, students blend strength and precision, executing more dynamic techniques and demonstrating power, focus, and increased sparring awareness.
Belt Meaning
Blue: Represents the sky — the plant grows into a tall tree, mirroring the student’s rising skills.
Grading Requirements
- Pattern: Joong‑Gun – 32 movements
- 2‑Step Sparring (Ibo Matsogi)
- Free Sparring (Jayu Matsogi)
- Left & Right Reverse Turning Kick (Bandae Dollyo Chagi)
- Board Breaking: Reverse Turning Kick (both legs) or choice of hand technique – break if over 18, measure if under. Students must name the technique and identify the attacking tool.

- Yopap Cha Busigi – Side Front Snap Kick

- Digutja Makgi – U-Shaped Block
‘Digutja’ refers to the Korean character ㄷ – the shape formed by the arms in this block. - Sang Sewo Makgi – Twin Vertical Block
- Kyocha Joomuk Chookyo Makgi – X-Fist Rising Block
- Giokja Jirugi – High Section Angle Punch
- Sonbadak Noollyo Makgi – Palm Pressing Block
‘Noollyo’ means pressing – the motion pushes downward to suppress an attack.

- Joong‑Gun: Named after patriot Ahn Joong‑Gun, who assassinated Ito Hiro‑bumi. It has 32 movements representing his age at his execution in 1910.
